The checker reads your draft the way an editor and Google's guidelines would, and tells you what to fix before you publish.

Watch: checking an article from start to finish (39 seconds, with voice-over and captions, example data)

What to paste

  1. HeadlineExactly as you'll publish it. We check its length, clarity and whether it reads as clickbait.
  2. Target keyword (optional)The search you want the article found for. We check it appears naturally in the headline, the intro and a subheading, without stuffing.
  3. Article textThe full article, including the byline and date if you show them; they matter for E-E-A-T.
  4. Google checksLeave Include Google checks on for the full report. Off, you get the writing checks only, which don't use a report.

What we keep

We never keep your full article. A saved report keeps the results and the few short sentences it quotes, such as a sentence flagged as too long, so it makes sense when you reopen it. Full details are in the privacy policy.

Tips for useful results

  • Check the final draft, not an outline: most checks look at the finished text.
  • Fix the Fail items first, then the warnings.
  • Re-check after your changes; the same text never uses another report.
