Privacy policy

What we collect

  • Google account details when you sign in: your name, email address, profile photo and Google account ID. We never see your Google password.
  • Article text you paste. It is processed to build your report. We never keep the full article. A saved report keeps the results (scores, findings, headline, keyword) and the short sentences it quotes, such as sentences flagged as too long or AI-sounding, so it makes sense when you reopen it. So that identical text is never charged twice, AI results (not the article) are also kept for up to 7 days in a cache that is not linked to your account, then deleted automatically.
  • Usage records: when you run a report or generator, and a one-way keyed hash of your IP address used to prevent abuse of the free plan. We do not store raw IP addresses.
  • Payment records: plan, amount, currency, date, any coupon used, the receipt number and the Cashfree order ID, plus the mobile number you give at checkout (Cashfree requires it; we keep it only to fill it in next time, and it is deleted with your account). Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Cashfree's payment page and never reach our servers.

How we use it

  • To run the service, enforce plan limits and prevent abuse.
  • To produce reports, the article text is sent to Google's Gemini API under Google's paid API terms, which do not allow Google to use it to train its models.
  • To process payments through Cashfree Payments India Private Limited.
  • To answer your support requests.

We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site attacks. We may use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, with IP anonymisation turned on. Pages may show ads from Google AdSense or other advertising partners. These third parties, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ad Settings, and from many other vendors at aboutads.info. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first. Free tools

Text you paste into the free tools is checked on our server and discarded immediately. It is not stored or used for anything else.

Retention

Report results are kept while your account exists and are shown according to your plan's history period. Cached AI results are deleted after 7 days. Server error logs never contain article text and are rotated automatically. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires. Anonymous usage hashes are kept to enforce free-plan limits.

Your rights

You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which permanently removes your profile and report history. You can also email support@checkarticle.com to access or correct your data.

Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Access to data is restricted, and secrets such as API keys are kept outside the public web directory.

Children

The service is not intended for anyone under 18.
