How we write and review guides
Our guides tell publishers what Google expects. That only works if they are accurate, current and honest about what nobody outside Google can know.
Sources come first
Every claim about how Google works is based on Google's own public documentation: Search Central, the Search Quality Rater Guidelines, AdSense and Publisher policies, Google News and Discover help pages, and announcements on the Search Central blog and Search Status Dashboard. We link to those sources at the end of each guide.
Where Google hasn't said something officially, we say so, and we label our own recommendations as recommendations. We don't present rumours or unconfirmed "ranking factors" as fact.
Who writes the guides
Guides are written and reviewed by Anshul. Every guide shows its author, its publish date, and an updated date when it changes.
Use of AI
We may use AI tools to help research or draft. A person checks every fact against the original source, rewrites the text, and takes responsibility for what we publish. The article checker's Google checks also use an AI model, and we are open about that on the product pages.
Keeping guides current
Google changes its documentation and policies regularly. Our updates tracker monitors Google's documentation changelog automatically, and we review the guides affected when something changes. The updated date on each guide shows when it was last revised.
Independence
We are not affiliated with Google. Some guides contain affiliate links, which are marked. Affiliate relationships never decide what we recommend, and they never influence the results of a report.
Corrections
If you spot an error, email support@checkarticle.com with the page and the problem. We check every report, fix confirmed errors quickly, and update the date on the guide.
